February 15th, 2006

Valentine's Day has just come and gone, and the intrepid Sixpackers still find themselves far far away from their sweethearts and loved ones. We're all scattered fairly widely across the western hemisphere at the moment, making things difficult for Gomez and his cronies to figure out how to put a spanner in the works!

Pat has been forging ahead as usual in his trusty psychadelic Caravan, and now finds himself in the US Midwest. After he spent an unusual length of time on the ground in Golden, Colorado, the rest of us began to get worried about him, until we discovered that Golden is now the home of his beloved Molson's!!! Still, he did manage to drag himself away after a week or so and weaved a wiggly path in the sky to Garden City, Kansas.

John discovered he had a lot of time on his hands due to the fact that winter curtailed the pursuit of his real life PPL. He flew an incredible amount of legs since Christmas, at one point actually catching up with Pat. After losing all his money in a casino in Reno, he flew the next leg to Elko, where he is now believed to be closeted away writing his entry for the annual Cowboy Poetry Gathering - wish him luck, he needs the prize money!

Jack celebrated in style when he finally left the continent of South America behind him. On arrival in Panama, he promptly headed for the nearest bar where he downed vast quantities of tequila - unfortunately, it was Gilligan's brand, and left him laid up in bed for a week recovering. He was able to pull himself together again though, and is currently in Liberia - not the one in Africa, but the one in Costa Rica.

Jarl was obviously missing the cold climes of Norway, and has been pressing on relentlessly towards the cold South Atlantic. On reaching the Falklands, he found that the penguins had been put on the endangered species list - it seems there numbers had been decimated by the barbecuing practices of a certain Six Pack pilot who had passed this way a couple of months back! Hunger drove Jarl forward, and he is now sitting in Ushuaia waiting to start the long hop down to Antarctica.

Ondra has had his attempts to progress frustrated by weather - he's currently stuck in Rio, where several starts have had to be postponed because of storms...at least, that's what he's telling us. I mean, come on, it has absolutely nothing to do with caipirihna, Copacabana, Brazilian beach volleyball teams, string bikinis....

Martin is also enjoying the weather in Brazil, though a bit further north in Vitoria. It seems that our Czech brothers really do like the beaches and the sunshine!!! He hasn't been inactive though, what with working on the webpages and so on.

Check out the pics in the galleries, and don't forget to visit the forums to post your own flight reports, pics and suggestions.

Merry Christmas from the Six Pack!

All of us at the Six Pack would like to take this opportunity to wish you all a Merry Christmas and a very Happy, Healthy and Prosperous New Year!

It's time also to bring you up to date on what the Six Pack team has been up to in recent months. There's been a lot of miles covered since our last update, and real life has as usual stepped in and played a part in the whereabouts of some of our pilots.

Pat has been busy logging up the miles in his furious efforts to stay one step ahead of General Gomez and his cronies. Up to now he has been successful, and is currently enjoying the fleshpots of Mexico City - he'll soon have completed the Central American legs and will be heading into the USA.

Jack is flying along in Pat's wake, and is fighting altitude sickness in La Paz, Bolivia. Last reports from there said that the altitude was having a serious effect on his beer drinking, and that 2 beers was enough to have him falling down!

For Bryan, real life, in the form of his job, stepped in in fall and he had to hang up his pilot's jacket in order to go back to school to study for a promotion. All of us here at the Six Pack wish Bryan well and hope to see him in the virtual skies again soon.

John has been working hard on getting his real life private pilot's licence, but has found the time in between to drag himself off the beaches of Jamaica and make some headway down south. He is currently sampling the beer at SBMT in Sao Paolo.

Ondra spent a loooonnngg time trying to drag himself away from the bar at Jarl's pousada in Porto Seguro, but made it eventually and now finds himself in Ilheus. He's rumoured to be trying to find a new beach volleyball team for the Six Pack to sponsor.

Jarl spent quite a while in real life at his own pousada in Porto Seguro, but is now back in the cold climes of Bergen and has done a great job of playing catch-up since his return. All those caipirihnas fuelled him up enough to make a mad spurt as far as Buenos Aires, where he is now grooming his voice in readiness for serenading the Argentinian señoritas - how much they will appreciate Norwegian drinking songs is not known at this point.

Luc has also hung up his pilot's jacket for the moment - temporarily, we hope - but has been doing a grand job in the background keeping the servers and website up and running.

Aaron has disappeared off the face of the earth - we suspect that he was abducted by Gomez's goons and is even now having his fingernails extracted for valuable information about the Six Packers. Wherever you are Aaron, we hope you live up to your nickname "The Man of Three Words" - "&%ç* you, Gomez!"

Martin has also been slowed down due to real life work committments, but has nonetheless made it as far as SBAR (Aracuja) on the Brazilian Northeast coast.

There are plenty of wonderful screenshots to look at in the galleries, so sit back, crack open a beer, and enjoy yourselves! Next update will be in the New Year.

June 16th, 2005

Okay, I guess it’s been awhile since The Six Pack Herald has been updated! Shame on the editor!!!

Lots of movement since last time! Two of the busiest Six Packers have been Bryan and Luc.

Pushing is beloved PC-12 more and more to the south, Luc has reached Brazil!! He flew to Boa Vista earlier this week, trying hard to catch up to some of the others. As usual, he has some fantastic screenshots to prove it!

Luc might be spending a bit of time in Boa Vista, that’s if he’s able to find Aaron. Our American friend has been enjoying his first Brazilian stop for quite some time now!

Bryan is also enjoying every minute spent in his Bonanza A36. He reached Natal last night. And good news, his logbook his also updated with most of his latest legs. Wondering just how he’s handling his bird? Go see for yourself in the logbook section.

If you have been following the Six Pack since the beginning (last November), you probably figured by now that TROUBLE follows Pat around… or is it Pat that is always “looking” for trouble? Here’s the latest: he’s gone AWOL in Sao Paulo for quite a few days now. The latest the Six Pack Herald heard is that he sort of ran out of funds to continue his journey! We are not sure how exactly he plans to keep going, but some sources indicate that he either decided to catch a commercial flight back home to go do some freelance bush flying contracts in Southeast Alaska… or decided to “walk the streets” in Sao Paulo… More to come!

A bit of news from at least one of the Grivalsky brothers. Stuck in Atlanta since early May, Martin (one of the new Six Packers) has just been handed his PC-12 by Pilatus! He should “hit the air” in the next few days, pushing his new beast south on afterburner!

Jack, our busy Irishman, is now sitting in Campos. We reached him earlier this week and his only comments (we did pull him out of bed) was that he’s ”enjoying the tobacco and sugar cane products!” I think we won’t ask for more details. He did upload several screenshots again in his Gallery, so don’t miss them!

Last but not least, Jarl is also still cruising along the Brazilian coast in his Golden Eagle. He reached Belo Horizonte ten days ago. He might stay there for a few weeks, waiting for others to catch up. Rumour is that he’s waiting for a few Six Pack friends to catch up, and then fly along with them.

Six Pack Addicts are also keeping themselves busy. Follow the adventures of those skills pilots in the “Open Gallery”, and read about it in the Forums.

Congratulations to Pat, who was the 1st winner of the Six Pack monthly screenshot forum with this shot:

The June contest is now opened to all registered users of the forums… Sign up now!!

Also, the latest part of the Six Pack route has just been announced. Some VERY interesting flights along the western coast of South America to come. It includes a few stops in “high altitude” airports, which should quite a challenge for a few of the pilots.

The Six Pack Relay is also well under way. This exciting adventure is open to all registered members of the forums. Current location of the relay DC-3 is YKSC (Kingscote, Australia). Follow the details in the special forum, and the special screenshot Gallery.

May 20th, 2005

Is it just me, or are too many Six Pack members spending too much time in Brazil? We heard that planning for the next part of the adventure is well under way, and that Argentina... and Antartica will now be visited over the next months!

Pat is still "holding the torch" and doing the advance work for the Six Pack. Our friend from Québec is VERY excited to be approaching Rio de Janeiro. He's only a few flights away, relaxing in Juiz de Fora. And it seems he's not alone... Let's just say that adventure (and trouble) seems to be following Pat wherever he goes!

Jack has also been making some progress now that he's back from his negotiation trip in Asia. After some intense flying, he has begun the "Minas Gerais" part of the Six Pack route, and he's enjoying the sun in Porto Seguro. And... great news... Jack did a massive update of his Gallery this week. Dozens of screenshots are now up for your enjoyment.

Speaking of Porto Seguro, did you know it's the official Six Pack "spot in the sun"? Yup, all Six Pack members are privileged members at Aeira Branca, owned by Six Pack Jarl!!! Feel like joining the club ? Well, just sign up, jump in your favourite GA plane, and get going!

I guess Jarl is missing his little piece of paradise, because he was planning a little marathon this week. His plan was to reach Porto Seguro by today. Did he make it? Check out the forums and the logbook section to find out.

Since the last update, Bryan reached Santarem, in the middle of the Amazon. That made him the latest Six Pack member to battle with the challenging Amazon weather. Check out his Gallery for his latest screenshots.

Master Luc seems to be determined to catch up to rest of the Pack. Yesterday, he reached the famous Princess Juliana Airport in St-Maarten. An avid plane spotter, he plans to spend the next few days lying on the beach and taking pictures… And he was fortunate enough to attract some attention for the big brass over at Pilatus. His cherished PC-12 has received a major overhaul, all at the expense of the mother company. Check a look at his screenshots... the pilot his smiling a lot!

Aaron is the latest Six Packer to dare land in Urinam. This little airport located in the Canaima National Park (Venezuela) has been a challenge for many pilots, ranking right up there with Les Cayes has the toughest approach so far.

Ondra is slowly on his way. Last news from him, he was relaxing in Fortaleza.

No movement since the last update for John and Martin But it should not be long before they "hit the air" again!

And in the meantime, Six Pack followers are also keeping themselves busy. Follow the adventures of those skills pilots in the "Open Gallery", and read about it in the Forums.

Are you interested in flying in an ATW... but don't have the time to do it? The Six Pack is proud to announce the launch of a new project: The Six Pack Relay. We’ll skip the details here, but just go visit the "Six Pack Relay" public forum to find out all the details. Let's just say your route will not be ENTIRELY up to you! The relay started on May 19th, in Perth, Western Australia.

You probably noticed that Six Pack members are screenshot maniacs! They have recently launched a monthly screenshot contest. There still a few days for the entries for the month of May, so go check the Gallery to see "the best of the best".

May 2nd, 2005

Time to turn the page of your calendar… and to check out the latest developments in the Six Pack world.

First off, some good news today. The Six Pack now has its own server! Please refresh your bookmarks to our new url: www.atwsixpack.com

Also, Six Packer John has put the final touches to our very own web logging utility (for users of the great FS Flight Keeper). A quick tutorial should be posted in the next few days.

Are you a screenshot addict? Guess what, the Six Pack Gallery currently stores close to 1900 pictures… The obvious question is: when will we hit the 2000 mark!

Two guys that have been busy posting those pictures are Luc and Pat. Both of them are “hot to trot” and moving south! Luc has reached Cuba in the last week. Rumours are he’s enjoying some good time in the sun! Latest reports are that his PC-12 is performing great, and he has all intentions to cruise across the Caribbean’s in no time.

As for Pat, well the current Six Pack “explorer” (member who’s currently the most advanced), he’s reached SBUR yesterday. Good thing his Caravan is doing fine, since he’s got some more “cargo” to haul. Check his screenshots and forums update for the latest…. And for details about the inflatable pub!

Jarl has also been keeping a fairly steady pace. His latest leg is not confirmed yet, but we heard he recently “cleared” the Amazon, and resting in Fortaleza.

Bryan is also on the move. Last week, he reached the Amazon and travelled to Maués. He now plans to head for Santarem tomorrow. Good news, looks like he finally settled down and has a new “permanent” plane. We’ll have to wait for an update to his popular story, but screenshots are promised shortly of his new Bonanza A36.

Earlier on, we spoke of John. He’s still in SBMQ (of course, no proof of that yet) but we heard he might be “making a move” soon. Based on some of early flying in the Six Pack, Pat may have some company soon!

After a few weeks of hard negotiations in order for the Six Pack to cross some “restricted” airspace (details to follow), Jack is back! Our Irish/Swiss friend should be back in the cockpit of his trusted C310 in the next few days, and cruise along the Brazilian coast.

Not much to report from Ondra. Our young friend his still “somewhere” in his C421. Of course, at such a young and tender age, a boy can be influenced to do bad things. We are keeping an eye on the Brazilian police “ticker” to make sure he did not get in TOO MUCH trouble!

One that is getting concerned is Ondra's brother Martin. Judging his brother had kept quiet for too long, he recently became an official Six Packer had started the long journey to catch up. Latest report on his location are sparse, but we heard he at least made it to Norfolk. A long way to go Martin!

Aaron is currently in an “unidentified” South American destination. We learned he has decided to spend a bit of time there, so we’ll wish him luck and hope to see him in the skies again.

If you are a frequent visitor, you’ll notice that activity is picking up in the forums. The reason is simple; we now have more and more followers. After being this little “thing” of six freaks, the Six Pack is now the hobby of more than 15 virtual pilots. With the new web logging system, everyone will soon be able to keep up!

Okay, that’s enough for now!

April 20th, 2005

If you are in the Northern Hemisphere, chances are you are enjoying the beautiful spring days we are experiencing north of the Equator. If you are a Six Pack follower, chances are you’re flying south, and maybe even enjoying fall in Brazil! G’day to all from the Six Pack Herald!

All indicates that the word is spreading in the virtual world about the Six Pack. More and more users are signing up on the forums, and every week a few more pilots are joining the journey.

Actually, a new “honorary member” as joined the group: Aaron Vance. Flying a King Air 350, Aaron has been a fan since the beginning, but the “Original Six” have just decided to make him a full member of the team. He will be helping out with several duties with the web site and his always keen observations. He already has some nice screenshots posted in the Gallery.

Pat the Adventurer has decided to leave behind the Brazilian female beach volleyball team in Porto Seguro and to continue flying south. Latest report is that he landed in Monte Claros (SBMK) last night. Apparently, he’s feeling lonely down there, so let’s see if he’ll soon be joined by other “Six Packers”…. Unless he decided to include a few “passengers” in his Caravan!?

Another member that’s on the move is Luc. Pushing his PC-12 south, he recently reached Atlanta. He had to catch a commercial flight back home to settle some issues, but will soon be reaching Florida, and then leaving the US. He’s also a very talented screenshot artist, so go check his shots in the Gallery.

Jack will be sitting in Morosso for a few weeks. We are still trying to find out exactly WHY he decided to spend some extra time there, but the reports are conflicting. At least, his C-310 is working fine.

Bryan has been on the move since the last update. He entered Brazil two weeks ago and plans to fly from Boa Vista to Manaus next Monday. Hopefully, the Amazon weather will be cooperative. We did hear some strange rumours that his C-441 did not follow him! I guess we’ll have to wait and see once his logbook and Gallery are updated… And maybe a new chapter of your story Bryan??

A Six Pack first occurred last week. Two members “hooked up” in Macapa and flew together to Belem (SBBE). A nice initiative of Ondra and Jarl. They both are now playing tourist in the lower Amazon River before continuing towards the coast. Some pictures of that flight are posted in the Gallery.

While in Macapa, they spent some time with John, the “discreet” member of the Pack. Still no visual proofs of his whereabouts available, but we heard he’s doing great and that he his also making some good progress to complete the online logbook update option that will soon be available on the web site.

The tip of the week: if you enjoy looking at the several hundred screenshots in the Gallery, a quick way to keep up to date is to click on “latest uploads”. That way, you always see what’s fresh!

March 24th, 2005

How time flies when you are having fun! The Six Pack Herald is back for this special Easter edition.

First off, from all the Six Pack members, followers, and flight sim enthusiasts, all our best wishes to Peps! Our German friends had to go “under the knife” last week, and we wish him well! We can't wait for him to hit the skies again and share his great screenshots!

So where are the rest of the guys? Well Pat is flying along the Brazilian coast and seems to be enjoying himself quite a lot!! He reached Campina Grande yesterday. More and more tales and rumours about his “activities” when he's on the ground. It actually seems that he encountered in some twisted way the Brazilian women beach volleyball team! Unfortunately, no pictures to be found about that “fiesta”.

Even thought he's still hard at work on the FSFK web updates, John is also on the move. His latest know position is SBMQ ( Macapa , Brazil ). Of course, he remains discreet and still has no pictures to prove it!!! But, it seems that Ondra is there as well, so we will be waiting to hear from him to confirm that John's Volpar has been spotted at the airport.

Jack “The Flying Irish” celebrated St-Patrick's Day in Fortaleza on the Brazilian coast. He decided to do some maintenance on his C310, but we heard he should be trying to catch up to Pat next week.

Bryan is still in Ciudad Bolivar , but we are hearing some strange stories about what's going on over there. Be sure to check his “logbook” to read his latest adventures (2 new chapters to be online soon!).

Our faithful followers are also staying busy. Luc (or Grand Master Luc has he is also known) is stranded in the USA due to mechanical problems on his PC-12, but will hit the air soon… Jarl reached lovely Barbados and will be leaving for Venezuela in the next few days. Rumours are he picked up a few passengers along the way that will be coming along for the ride. Nothing a C421 can't handle!!

Come one, come all to the Gallery ! There's more and more amazing screenshots posted, that also highlight some of the great add-on's that the Six Pack is finding along the way. Some Six Pack members have also created some more personalized Galleries to share “non-ATW” screenshots. All yours to discover.

A good way to keep up to speed with the daily adventures of the “crazy Six” is to visit the “Flight reports and screenshots” and “Chit-chat” forums, where they often drop a note from the current location.

February 25th, 2005

First things first! Hope you are enjoying the new design of the Six Pack web site. Great work by Six Pack member Ondra , who keeps improving his designing skills as the weeks go by. Like we said, this project is a lot more than just a flying “thing” for us.

Okay, you've heard it here first! The Six Pack Herald has learned that John has left Jamaica ! His logbook is not yet updated, and the reports are slim, but our sources tell us he reached at least TAPA, since the last news update.

On the flip side, looks like Peps is having serious issues with his SF-260, probably an aftermath of problems he had while in the US . He remains grounded in Barbados , but hopes to be airborne soon.

Meanwhile, somewhere in Brazil … Pat and Jack continue to progress south. Reports are scarce, but the last we heard from Pat, he had just landed in Belem . He now plans to reach Fortaleeza and relax for at least a week. That's bad news for Jack, since he is also relaxing in Fortaleeza , after tackling the Amazon.

Ondra is also doing well, and enjoying his rock solid C421. As with Pat and Jack, the news are hard to get from Brazil , but last we heard, he was in Boa Vista.

Bryan also moved south this week, and is now in Ciudad Bolivar , Venezuela . He did encounter some issues with a somewhat “up tight” Venezuelan Air Force officer in Carupano , but managed to get in… and out… of SVCP in one piece. His logbook (lacking behind in updates) should be up-to-date soon!

Also, the Six Pack announced this week the “introduction” of its two first “honorary” members: Luc Martineau and Jarl Gill. Luc is actually not a new comer, and has worked “in the background” since the creation (and before!) of the Six Pack. He kind of went unnoticed and the Six Pack figured it was about time to recognize his hard work. As for Jarl, he's from Norway and long-time flight simming friend of many of the Six Pack members. He's actually so keen on joining, that he already ready flew all the way to Santiago Del Cuba !!!

On the technical side, result of the great work of John, we are inching closer and closer to announce our auto-PIREP system for the users of FS Flight Keeper. Stay tuned.

Come one, come all to the Gallery ! There's more and more amazing screenshots posted, that also highlight some of the great add-on's that the Six Pack is finding along the way. Some Six Pack members have also created some more personalized Galleries to share “non-ATW” screenshots. All yours to discover.

January 28th, 2005

Jack and Pat are the two first members of the Six Pack to reach the South American continent! And in just a few flights, they already discovered that business will never be again “as usual”!! Don't be scared to look at some of Pat's screenshots in his Gallery! Or at his FSFK reports in the logbook section. It seems that our friend from Quebec has made a new friend in Urinam !

Speaking of our “ Fightin ' Irish” friend Jack, he became the first official victim of a “mid-air” collision. We will let him to the explaining, but we are please to report he survived the crash of his trusted C310. The only good news out of this is that to avoid public embarrassment, the airline that was responsible for the crash agreed to replace his plane at no cost. Read the nasty details here .

Bryan left the Martinique last week, and reached Barbados , to spend some time with Peps (who really seems to be enjoying himself there!). Our Canadian friend also decided to prolong his stay, but should be flying to South America sometime next week. Visit his Gallery to see pictures of his last leg. Bryan also recently announced that his next leg will also mark the return of his popular, and twisted, story!

Ondra has been also busy cruising in the Islands , and his now somewhere between TIST and TNCM. Screenshots should be available shortly in his Gallery .

Well, John is still in Montego Bay . But he's been quite busy on a special Six Pack project that we will be announcing soon. Stay tuned to the Six Pack Herald to learn all the details.

Speaking of projects, we learned that Pat should be showing off a new paint job on his Caravan in the next few days. Screenshots should be following soon…

Come one, come all to the Gallery ! There's more and more amazing screenshots posted, that also highlight some of the great add-on's that the Six Pack is finding along the way.

January 11th, 2005

From everyone at the Six Pack Herald and from all the members of the Six Pack… HAPPY NEW YEAR… AND BLUE SKIES TO ALL!!!

Members of the Six Pack have made good progress during the past few weeks, here’s a quick recap of where everybody stands:

Pat finally left San Juan on December 23rd on cruised along the islands to reach Barbados earlier this week. A mountain almost came between him and a successful ATW while he was flying to Antigua but he managed to pull it off and keep on going. A lot of details about his latest adventures are available in his logbook section.

Peps also made significant progress through the Caribbean’s on December 26th and 27th, and reached Fort-de-France in Martinique. Lucky him, he spend several days there with Pat, including New Years Eve. Needless to say, we will spare the details for now and keep them for the release of the “Six Pack Herald… Unedited version” to be published once this is all over!!! As usual, our German friend has sent us some amazing screenshots .

Bryan also recently reached the beautiful Martinique. After spending Christmas in San Juan, he celebrated the New Year in TIST, and then recently reached Fort-De-France. Visit his gallery to see pictures of his last four legs.

One bad news about Bryan. Due to unforeseen activities in his real life (yes… he does have one) he has been forced to put on hold his popular “story” for at least one month. His fans can rest assured, he promised us that once everything his settled,he will resume from the location he will have reached. In the meantime, he will be uploading “leg pictorals” in the Gallery section. Good luck Bryan.

Guess what? Ondra finally left the United States!! After enjoying the good life in Miami for almost a month, he decided it was time to get his C421 flying again, he left for Cuba. Screenshots are available in his gallery .

And the countdown continues. John is still “Missing in Action” in Montego Bay. After reaching MKJS on November 6th, John has seen come and go all the other members of the Six Pack, except Ondra. It seems he will keep his word, and make sure everyone survives Jamaica before “hitting the skies” again himself!

And finally, Jack also took advantage of the Festive Season to catch up. He left KMIA on December 27th, and his now enjoying the good life in St-Thomas. He did have a few “challenges” with his faithful C310, but reports he’s almost ready to leave for St-Maartens. See all the details in his logbook .

Slowly but surely, the Six Pack web site is building some momentum. Thank you to everyone that has registered on our forums and have also started posting screenshots there or in the User-gallery .

And last but not least, and if you are still reading this, rush to the always popular F.S. Flight Club International web site. Seems we had some distinguish visitors on our web site recently, since the always entertaining Ron Blehm has included members of the Six Pack in his latest twisted commented PIREP. Read Part 1 here, and then keep on going in Part 2 ! Thanks Ron!

Next news update next week, as members of the Six Pack reach South America and continue to progress south.

December 20th, 2004

With the festive season in full swing, members of The Six Pack are all on their way south, leaving the cold and snowy East Coast and chasing the Sun!!

We are pleased to announce that our Gallery is now fully functional. Must of us have uploaded shots for your viewing pleasure, and visitors are also invited to do the same, by using the User-Gallery .

Will it be Christmas in San Juan for Bryan and Pat? The two Quebecers are currently enjoying life in Puerto Rico, but will it be where they'll decide to unwrap their presents? Find out more by visiting the logbook section.

Ondra is on the move, but he's the only member of The Six Pack still in the Continental US. Will he decide to enjoy the “Miami Vices” any longer? Want to see his C421 in action? He's got some shots published in the Gallery .

After finally solving ALL of his front landing gear problems, Peps is pushing his SF-260 hard. He reached Montego Bay this weekend, and seems to be, for once, enjoying himself and he has nice screenshots to prove it!

Jack was forced to due some unplanned maintenance work on his faithful C310 last week. Enjoying some fine cigars in La Havana, he was forced to stay in Cuba a little longer than planned, since suitable replacing parts had to be ordered, and flown-in, from the USA. With not much else to do, he decide to share some early screenshots in the Gallery.

The Six Pack Herald is trying hard… real hard… to confirm rumours that John might finally be leaving Montego Bay. While Bryan and Pat have come and gone, and Peps already planning to leave for Haiti , it seems that John will wait until all Six Pack members have visited Jamaica before leaving…

We would like to say a big thank you to all those that have visited our site thus far. Please, don't hesitate to drop by the forums and drop a line!

December 10, 2004

Time for a Friday update! Another busy week for the Six Pack, with all members now either in the Caribbeans or flying down the coast of Florida.

After reaching Orlando following some longs repairs in Greensboro, Holger had another minor incident while landing in Tampa. He his now convinced the problem lies in his front gear system, but can't seem to find a decent mechanic to fix it!! He decided to do some “home made” repairs to it, and proceeded to Miami . He's expected to reach Cuba in the next few days.

Pat reached Santiago Del Cuba last night. His report should be posted later today, or tomorrow. Good news, he's carrying a new digital camera for John, meaning our favourite Pennsylvanian may finally leave MKJS, where he's been laying low for some weeks now!

No news from Ondra for awhile now. If he stays there as long as he did in Greensboro, it might take him a few years to complete this adventure. The only rumor the Six Pack Herald can report is that he has found a quite “demanding” passenger he has to please in many ways!

December 09, 2004

Welcome! The « Six Pack » ATW is now under way, and it’s with great pleasure that we officially launch our web site. Please feel free to visit our forums and comment… or share your stories and screenshots as you follow our route.

December 04, 2004

Great news! Holger is en route to Florida! After his crash in Greensboro last month, and the repairs and investigation that followed, our German friend was finally cleared for takeoff this week. He lost no time and pushed his SF-260 all the way to Florida to catch up with the rest of The Six Pack. He now intends to spend a few day in the Magic Kingdom before heading off for the Caribbeans. See his latest reports and screenshots here.

December 03, 2004

Bryan finally reappeared this week! After receiving a mysterious phone call in Tampa, he disappeared for a few days, but showed up in Montego Bay in one piece. He’s now enjoying some R & R (and some rum) with John. Read his latest adventures here.

December 02, 2004

Quite a busy week for the Six Pack! After spending more than two weeks in Greensboro (what the heck did he do there!?)

Ondra has left North Carolina and his now enjoying the sun in Northern Florida. Interested in finding more? Take a look at his latest reports here.

Jack also reached Florida this week, and his now relaxing there with Pat. This being a “family” site, we are withholding details of their busy “schedule”!! Wonder how he managed to get his trusted C310 there ?

Six Pack members are becoming concerned about Bryan . No one has heard from him for a few days. The last time he checked in, he had just landed in Tampa and was looking forward to join Pat and Jack in Miami. The manager of the Days Inn where he slept said he checked out early on Tuesday, and he looked somewhat concerned.

And finally, some news from Holger. Repairs are underway on his SF-260 after he crashed in Greensboro. The NTSB did a quick inquiry, and confirmed that a gas leak was at the origin of misfortune. There is currently a man-hunt in Washington to find, and arrest, the mechanic that did the original repairs. Holger has confirmed he will shortly be flying again.

Disaster… Again! After some quick repairs following his misfortune in Washington , Holger was able to quickly resume flying. Unfortunately he should not have trusted the “rent-a-mechanic” he found snoozing in a hangar at KIAD. Turns out the after-repair engine inspection was poorly done, and a gas leak was not detected. He was able to reach Norfolk yesterday (a short flight), but miscalculated his gas consumption this morning. He crashed while approaching Greensboro (KGSO) earlier today. We've been informed that the pilot is in good shape, but the plane is severely damaged.

Disaster! After some nice flying down the East Coast, Holger experienced a mechanical failure while landing in Dulles! His SF-260 is now severely damaged, but he remains hopeful he will be able to resume his tour within the next few days.

Pat becomes the 2nd member of the Six Pack to reach Miami. FAA authorities were waiting for him at arrival. Seems that the controllers at KMIA don’t have a good sense of humor and did not appreciate is “driving” style while taxiing. Click here to find out in his “reports”!

After spending more than a week in Washington (hey he bumped into Jack!) Bryan is back in the air and has reached Greensboro. Feel free to look at his pictorals here.

Holger is finally en route! After days of negotiations (we also heard money was involved), Holger has resolved his visa situation and has now left KHPN. Holger was the last member of The Six Pack to still be grounded.

November 11, 2004

The last member of The Six Pack to still be grounded is Holger. It seems that our German friend is having problems with US Immigration to finish the paperwork for his visa. When we contacted him at his home, Holger reassured everyone that everything should be ready by the end of the month.

November 10, 2004

Well, it was bound to happen! Having already spent almost a week under the warm sun of the Caribbean, we've just learned that John was robbed in his hotel room. Fortunately, his passport and money were in the safe, but not his camera! He therefore lost all his screenshots since departing KHPN. You can still see his progress in the logbook section.

November 08, 2004

Well, seems like the planning is finally over for two other members of The Six Pack. Bryan and Jack have left KHPN and are now on their way to meet up with Ondra who has spent the last week in Norfolk. Read their progress in the logbook section.

Eager to takeoff, John, Pat and Ondra are already on their way! John was in such a hurry to leave wet and cold Pennsylvania, that he has already reached Florida. He now plans to wait a bit until a few other members of the group join him… That’s unless the smell of rum attracts him to the Caribbean! See the details of their flights on the “logbook” tab.
